A combo allows you to combine several existing items into a formula (useful for lunch formulas, for example). On the device, the sequence is an item in itself, with a price and a description. Its components (items) can keep their price or see their price forced (ex: if their value is already included in the price of the sequence).
Creating a combo
1. Click on the blue "Create" button then "Combo"
2. Enter the required information (Name of the combo, Price, SKU ...). The statistic group is optional.
3. Check the box “Can be matched when performing sequence auto-detection” if you want to be offered to create a sequence and add items to it when selecting an item that is part of a sequence on the POS.
4. Click on "Save". A new window opens. Here you can:
-
- Edit the combo by clicking on "Modify item details".
- Add items to your sequence by clicking on "Edit the item list".
- Create a group of items (e.g. entries with 3 possible entries in the sequence) by clicking on "Create a new item group".
Note 1: The price of the "No price (zero price)" sequence will not appear on the customer's receipt if you configured it as such in Configuration> Configurations.
Note 2: A newly created combo will by default be an “Open combo”. This feature allows you to add items to your combo in the order you want without having to complete an entire combo before starting another one (e.g. if you select 4 x Combo A, you will be able to add all your drinks (4x), then all your appetizers (4x), and finally all your entrees (4x), without having to individually complete a combo before starting the next one i.e. (1x drink, 1x appetizer, 1x entree) + (1x drink, 1x appetizer, 1x entree) + ...)). For existing combos, you can turn the sequence into an open combo by editing it and checking the “Open combo” box (refer to the following section).
Open combo
This configuration of the combo does not force the opening of the screens on the device: the items of the sequences can be chosen in the desired order. If you want the screens to be forced to complete the order of a combo in order (starters, then main dish, then drink), uncheck the box "Open combo".
Create a group of items (for/in a sequence)
- When creating the combo, click on "Create a new item group".
- Enter the required information.
- Choose the position of the components of your group of items in the combo by selecting the desired position with the "Item to be inserted in course” drop-down menu.
- Select "Free" so items are added to the same dish as the combo, as sub-items (recommended method).
- Save the changes by clicking on the blue "Save" button.
Note 1: The name of your item group is not visible to the POS user or the customer.
Note 2: If you want to reuse an item group already created for another combo, (e.g. drinks menu that may be the same in all your menus), click on "Edit the item list" and add (reuse) the group with the name you assigned to it (e.g. Drinks Menu) and this group will appear with the same items and properties as the one previously used.
Note 3: Indicate the price at which the items in this group will be added to the receipt (e.g. zero if the value of the items is already included in the price of the combo). If you leave this field empty, the selected item in the group will be added to the receipt with its own price.
Note 4: The selection rule allows you to define the different possibilities of entering items within a group (in the case of a single choice, the screen closes after the selection of an item; in other cases it stays open and you have a "pass" button to indicate that you are done with this screen).
Adding items to an existing group of items
1. Select the item group.
2. Click on "Edit the item list".
3. Enter the name of the item to be added in the box "Type the first letters of an item and select it from the list".
4. Click on "+" to add it to the group. Click on "-" to the left of the items to delete items from the group.
- Repeat the action for all the items you want to add to the group.
- Save the changes by clicking on the blue "Save" button.
Note: You can change the order of the appearance of items on the device. To do so, use the arrows next to the items in the item group to change their position in the list
