Understanding the printing process

The system's logic behind printing a note or a customer receipt differs from printing an order. 

In the case of a note or customer receipt, there are three places in the Back Office where you can store a printer profile. The places are the Floor plan settings, the Device settings, and the POS configuration settings. 

The system checks each possibility, in turn, starting from the floor plans. If it does not find a printing profile, it checks the next possibility and so on until a profile is found. This printing profile is then used for the respective print job. The following graphic illustrates the corresponding hierarchy.

If printing an order ticket, there are three places a corresponding printing profile may be associated with. Order tickets can be assigned to Item settings, Accounting group settings, and Production center settings.

Each possibility is examined one by one, starting from the items. If the system can't find a profile, it goes on to check the next possibility, and so on until the system finds one. This profile is then addressed to send the respective print job. The following graphic illustrates the corresponding hierarchy.

It’s important to understand that if a printing job fails, that means the POS can't find a profile in any level for one of the both mentioned cases.
